Message To The Guitar Industry
To all fellow members of the guitar industry: welcome to alloutguitar.com. We intend to provide a new platform for you all to reach more guitar fans and players the world over.
We exhibited at ‘The London Guitar Show’ in May 2006 to overwhelmingly positive effect. Yet some industry figures (not, I hasten to add, the actual publishers themselves) seemed to think that the established magazines might take offence that some upstarts are trying to take them on. But regrettably, they were failing to see the point.
Compared with print magazines we are really in a different ballpark. Yes, we all carry interviews, news and reviews and run an extensive array of tutorials – but the Internet is a different medium. To compare alloutguitar.com to any of the print guitar magazines is as pointless as comparing radio to TV.
As a free to use online product our very ethos is to have very high a level of interactivity with our users and readers. We will also, in time, develop a reach into the local guitar scenes that print magazines cannot reach purely because they are in the print medium.
We hope to work alongside the established magazines, and will flag up and promote forthcoming issues from them all – so please keep us in the loop as to future content. Equally we will point our readers in the direction of our friends at www.licklibrary.com, www.essentialguitarist.com and other excellent on line resources.
Manufacturers and distributors of guitars, amps, effects and accessories – and anyone in the guitar services industry – will be able to tightly target their marketing to an unprecedented degree – even down to post code areas.
AOG is in the process of recruiting hundreds of regional site representatives, local guitar players and teachers of influence who will actively promote usage of the site at a grass root level.
Guitarist and bands – world wide renowned, or local heroes – should find AOG an exciting new medium ion which to promote their music and gigs.
Finally, with all manner of interactive events in the pipeline, readers and users of the site will be able to contribute to AOG and gain a real sense of being part of the bigger guitar community.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcome your opinions!
