10,000 Entries For PRS Guitar Competition

The allure of the electric guitar shows little sign of diminishing if a recent on-line competition run by Joe Brown’s clothing is anything to go by. The mainstream lifestyle brand teamed with Headline Music (UK distributors of PRS Guitars) to give away a PRS EG model in a joint promotion leading up to Music Live 2007.

The competition attracted an unprecedented 10,000 entries – a number that pleasantly surprised Joe Brown’s Web Business Development manager John Gaukroger:

“The interest that the competition received this year was staggering,” says Gaukroger. “We decided to partner with PRS Guitars last year, as we felt that their stunning guitars would be the perfect aspirational prize for a musically-themed promotion. The response we got then was great, so they were the first company we turned to when again promoting a new range of music-inspired fashion.”

The level of interest aroused by the competition reflects the healthy curiosity of the public at large where the guitar is concerned. “People are still in love with the electric guitar,” said Headline Music MD Gavin Mortimer, “and it’s great to be able to reach a vast audience in conjunction with a brand like Joe Browns in this way.”
