Michael Amott is a British/Swedish guitarist, songwriter, founding member of the bands Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars and Carnage, as well as a member of the legendary death metal band Carcass, who will be doing some reunion shows this summer. Arch Enemy are about to tour the Far-East with Shadows Fall and will be in the UK in April with Opeth.

Green Tea.
Which song/album really made you want to play guitar?
Sex Pistols – ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’.
Who’s the world’s greatest guitarist?
Tony Iommi, because he invented the heavy tone and evil riff!

Tony Iommi!
So what are you up to at the moment?
Spending time at home, enjoying a break after a near 4 month long tour.

How many guitars do your own and which one is ‘your precious’?
I currently have 25-30 guitars and most of them are very nice, but my most precious ones are the custom shop versions of my signature ESP ‘Ninja V’ model.
What’s the last great album that you bought (or were given)?
Proudflesh –‘Proudflesh’!
Do you suffer from stage fright?
No, quite the opposite!
