David Isen is the guitarist for HORSE the band, who's music has won them many accolades for energy and originality. Their keyboardist uses the Roland Juno-D synthesizer and LSDJ Gameboy cartridge to achieve an 8-bit video game-influenced sound, a reason behind their tongue-in-cheek labeling of "Nintendo-core".

So what’s your drink of choice at 11am in the morning?

I'm still sleeping at 11am. In my dreams I am probably drinking chocolate.

Which song/album really made you want to play guitar?

Metallica's Ride the Lightning...first thing I did when I got my guitar was buy the tab book for that album.

Who’s the world’s greatest guitarist?

Probably some dork in his parents' basement can shred harder than anyone out there. Probably some classical flamenco dude could kill any of the rock guitarists we know about, its too hard to say.

Who’s the world’s most underrated guitarist?

Alex Lifeson from Rush has to live in the shadow of the legendary Geddy Lee and Neil Peart, but he's got a great unique and tasteful style that really touches my heart.

So what are you up to at the moment?

Trying to book a 40-country round-the-world tour all by myself.

What was the last gig you went to (as a member of the audience)?

Who would be in your dream line-up?

I went to see a bunch of really horrible butt rock bands in Hollywood at "Club Vodka." It was pretty miserable.

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Tim Duncan, Charles Barkley and Dirk Nowitzki!

How many guitars do your own and which one is ‘your precious’?

I currently own 4 guitars. My precious used to be my purple Carvin, but it was stolen from me in Nashville. After that experience I no longer feel attachment to material things.

What’s the last great album that you bought (or were given)?

Everything I bought recently got really boring after a week or so. Except Saves the Day, "Under the Boards", I really like that one for some reason.

Do you suffer from stage fright?

Nope. I know I'm gonna kill it every night.
