Today's Elevenses Throws Eleven Quick Questions At 'The Italian Prog Master' Marco Sfogli!
Marco Sfogli is the highly regarded Italian guitarist, songwriter, arranger and session player. Marco has played with a host of acclaimed musicians and his main gig is with James LaBrie (from Prog legends Dream Theater), for which he recorded the album 'Elements of Persuasion' and is currently working to the follow up. Marco's first solo record titled 'There's Hope' will be available this month (January 2008) through Lion Music.
So what’s your drink of choice at 11am in the morning?
Coffee exclusively.
Which song/album really made you want to play guitar?
I would say Beat It, Michael Jackson.
Who’s the world’s greatest guitarist?
There are so many great guitarists that I can’t list just one. It doesn’t exists the “definitive” guitar player, someone is good at something and someone else at something else so...to me it doesn’t exist☺
Who’s the world’s most underrated guitarist?
Hard question...probably Dan Huff.

- Eric Martin on vocals
- Andy Timmons on guitar
- Geddy Lee on bass (and why not, background vocals)
- and Simon Phillips on drums
How many guitars do your own and which one is ‘your precious’?
Not as many as one could think. I have just 4 and all of them are my Rash signature models. I don’t feel I need anything else!
What’s the last great album that you bought (or were given)?
“All The Right Reasons” by Nickelback
Do you suffer from stage fright?
Never had such a problem hopefully!
