Today's Elevenses Throws Eleven Quick Questions At 'The Teenage Idol' Lyle Watt!

Lyle Watt is a 15 year old guitar player from the Highlands of Scotland and through a display of unbridled natural talent, Lyle was runner-up at Guitar Idol 2008. Lyle says, “I have only 3 interests in life - guitar, more guitar and even more guitar! I've been playing guitar since I was 3, but I've really only been playing seriously for the past 5 or 6 years, and I absolutely love it!”

In an Elevenses Special, we catch up with the very charming Gustavo Di Padua and talk about his new album 'The Stairs'.

Gustavo Di Padua is one of the most exciting young talents to hail from Brazil in recent years. He plays for number of Brazilian bands and already has a growing following in Japan. He was one of the standout entrants in Guitar Idol 2008 and his new album 'The Stairs' has got everyone at All Out Guitar very excited (a review of the album to follow soon).

Here is a list of the 12 finalists in order of play, with selected comments from the 7 judges on the actual day. For the sake of people’s feelings and/or egos, we have not put the final scores for each finalist. We do however mention the Top 3 places and their scores out of a possible 140 points!

So after winning the public vote and the online panel’s vote, Gustavo Guerra impressed a panel of industry judges enough to win Guitar Idol 2008 by a clear distance. His fully professional performance, showmanship and exquisite technique needed no hiding place on the main stage at The London Guitar Show!

Paul Reed Smith awarded Gustavo a Custom 24 Limited Edition (1 of 12) – a beautiful guitar worth over £2500 ($5000) and a Peavey ‘Satch’ signature amp signed by the great man himself.

Guitar Idol can confirm that legendary bass player Billy Sheehan will be one of the judges for The Final Of Guitar Idol 2008 at the London International Music Show, Saturday 14th June, 10.30am on the main stage.

Billy is of the most revered bass players in Rock history and has recorded and performed with some of the world’s greatest guitar players such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Greg Howe, Tony McAlpine, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and Richie Kotzen to name but a few.
