Yngwie Malmsteen, one of rock's premiere virtuoso guitarists, is confirmed to play the London Guitar show, part of the London International Music show, on Saturday 14th June.

Brazilian Kiko Loureiro recently played a Masterclass at London's The Institute of Contemporary Music, and the Guitar Institute's master of ‘world guitar' Tolis Zavaliaris was on hand on 11^th March 2008 to ask a few pertinent questions to this exciting new guitar star. Kiko is a genuinely fresh new addition to the ranks of virtuoso metal based guitarists, bringing an eclectic mix of influences that reflect his South American heritage - and these combined with a world class command of the modern rock guitar idiom results in a genuinely cutting edge axeman.

A sigh of relief is heard over the streets of LA. The desolate chaos gives way to a peace which hasn’t been felt for some years. There is the slight sting of regret, but it subsides to the sight of freedom, a sign of hope, and the breaking of chains which bound hands for the best part of a decade.

George Lynch’s lead playing is legendary. He is one of the rare breed of players who has the magic touch. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is about his playing and whether there was some collusion with an other worldly force for him to be able to play the way he can…hmmm, I wonder if he went down to the Crossroads like Ralph Macchio in the film of the same name. Was there a duel with a gentleman named Jack Butler, who just happened to be a spitting image of a certain Mr. Vai??? An interesting thought…

On the eve of the new G3 2007 tour, this time with fellow virtuoso guitarists Paul Gilbert (of Mr Big, Racer X and solo fame) and John Petrucci (from progressive metal titans Dream Theatre) Joe found time to give Alloutguitar an update on life as arguably the premier instrumental guitarist of the last two decades.
